Early Childhood Care and Education Teacher’s Spirit and Devotion Lives On

Gatineau, December 14, 2016 – The Calouche Marcotte families as well as the Cégep Heritage College Foundation announce the creation of the Caroline Calouche Memorial Award.

This perseverance award was created in memory of Caroline who joined the Cégep Heritage College faculty in 1993. The Heritage Family, including colleagues and alumni, are also invited to contribute to the fund.

During a recent Celebration of Life, Carl Marcotte, Caroline’s husband, stated that "As her past students know, Caroline was dedicated to her students' success, particularly in fieldwork. This bursary is a lasting tribute to her vision and dedication in helping shape the next generation of superb educators. We are so honoured the Foundation and ECCE faculty believe in her legacy as we do."

The first annual Caroline Calouche Memorial Award of $500 will be presented in October of 2017 to a graduating Early Childhood Care and Education student who, in the opinion of the Department, best combines excellence in fieldwork performance, engagement in community and/or student life, leadership skills and perseverance in his or her academic development.

The Foundation wholeheartedly thanks the Marcotte and Calouche families as well as all donors for their contribution to this legacy fund.

(Student Foundation Ambassador) I have always aspired to being an actor, and joined the Drama Club at Heritage to live my dream. Despite my physical disability, Heritage College has found a way. I am looking forward to many future improvements at the College for kids with special needs, as well as renovations in the auditorium for the Drama Club.

The Heritage College Foundation is enhancing the quality of education for Heritage students, and allowing people like myself reach their full potential. The work the Foundation is doing is valuable in helping all of us succeed in life.

Investing in Heritage College is an Investment in Student Recognition, Student Determination and Student Success!
